Verification Services Terms — Proof of Address (postal.ID)
These Verification Services Terms apply to Customer's use of address verification (postal mail) and digital verification factors (email/SMS). They supplement the MSA.
1. Assurance levels (definitions)
- Digital Verified: Subject successfully completes configured digital factor(s) (email OTP and/or SMS OTP) within configured limits.
- Postal Verified: Subject successfully presents the postal letter code (or QR-linked code) delivered to the provided address within the configured expiry period.
- Digital+Postal Verified: Both Digital Verified and Postal Verified are completed for the same Case.
Customer configures which assurance level is required by policy or case type.
2. What verification does and does not prove
- Verification provides evidence of successful completion of the configured factor(s).
- Verification does not guarantee identity, legal residency, or absence of fraud.
3. Case lifecycle
- Creation → dispatch digital messages (optional) → dispatch postal letter → track delivery (where available) → verification completion/expiry → evidence pack generation.
4. Expiry and retries
- Digital OTP expiry: [5–15 minutes typical].
- Postal code expiry: [7–30 days typical].
- Reissue: new code invalidates old codes.
- Rate limits and lockouts apply.
5. Delivery dependencies
Postal delivery statuses depend on third-party providers and postal services. Digital delivery depends on carriers/providers.
6. Evidence packs
Evidence packs may include event timelines, delivery events, verification timestamps, and integrity hashes.
7. Customer responsibilities
Customer warrants it has lawful basis to contact Subjects and to process their data and will provide required notices/consents.
